About this event
Calling All First Mates!
Have you ever wondered what might happen if your boat’s captain were hurt or unable to captain your boat? Unforeseen circumstances could mean that you are "suddenly in command." This class is for you!
Join us on April 25th, from 12noon to 4pm for a collaborative, hands-on afternoon of instruction on the things you need to know if you are suddenly in charge of your boat and crew. U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteer instructor Captain Linda Lewis will help participants learn everything from making a VHF call, to techniques for getting a person out of the water. Linda is a popular instructor, well regarded for her approachable and practical teaching style. You’ll come away from class with excellent knowledge, enhanced skills and greater confidence.
This event is free for Edmonds Yacht Club members and the public. We strongly encourage pre-registration so we can ensure adequate learning materials and a mid-afternoon snack.
